SAN DIEGO, CA – August 13, 2019 – iGolf is excited to partner with Chip-ing AG, the Swiss company behind a GPS-tracked smart golf ball designed to combine premium ball performance with technology that helps golfers locate their ball on the course. Through the partnership, Chip-ing will integrate iGolf’s global course database into its mobile application, significantly expanding the course intelligence available to golfers using the Chip-ing smart ball system.

Through the partnership, Chip-ing will upgrade its existing GPS course experience with iGolf’s comprehensive database of more than 40,000 mapped golf courses across 177 countries. The integration will provide Chip-ing users with accurate distances, hazard information, detailed hole layouts, green mapping, and geospatial course data, complementing the ball-tracking technology at the center of the Chip-ing experience.

Chip-ing brings a unique approach to connected golf equipment by embedding Bluetooth technology directly into a premium golf ball. Paired with the Chip-ing mobile app, the technology allows golfers to locate their ball from up to 30 yards away, helping reduce time spent searching for lost balls and improve pace of play. The combination of smart hardware and iGolf’s course intelligence creates a connected experience in which golfers can better understand both the location of their ball and the course around them.

“Chip-ing is a great example of how connected technology can solve a very practical problem for golfers,” said Ryan Kimberling, Vice President of Sales & Strategy at iGolf. “By combining their innovative smart ball technology with iGolf’s global course intelligence, we can help create an experience where golfers not only have an easier time locating their ball, but also have the accurate course information they need to make their next decision.”
