SAN DIEGO, CA – iGolf is excited to partner with Kinetek Sports, Inc., the San Diego-based golf technology company behind ClubHub Golf, a connected golf system combining club-mounted sensors, automatic shot tracking, swing analysis, GPS course information, and performance statistics. Through the partnership, ClubHub integrates iGolf’s industry-leading golf course mapping and GPS data into its mobile experience, connecting automatically captured shot information with accurate course intelligence to give golfers a more complete understanding of how they perform during actual rounds.
Founded in 2009, Kinetek Sports developed ClubHub around the idea that golfers could learn more about their games if performance information could be captured naturally while they played. Small sensors installed in individual clubs communicate with the ClubHub mobile application, allowing the system to identify the club being used and record shots without requiring golfers to manually enter every swing. The resulting information creates a digital record of the golfer’s round, including shot locations and distances, while reducing the interaction traditionally required to collect meaningful on-course data.
ClubHub combines that automatic shot tracking with swing analytics and performance statistics, allowing golfers to evaluate both individual swings and broader playing trends. Sensor-generated information can be paired with GPS course maps, scoring, club distances, and round statistics, helping players understand how their equipment and swing performance translate to results on the golf course. Rather than separating swing analysis from on-course performance, ClubHub was designed to connect the two within a single technology ecosystem.
Through its partnership with iGolf, ClubHub gains access to the course intelligence behind more than 40,000 mapped golf courses across 177 countries. iGolf’s detailed course layouts and geospatial data provide the spatial framework needed to place automatically detected shots within the actual golf environment. Connecting sensor data with accurate course mapping allows golfers to understand not simply how far they hit a particular club, but where those shots occurred and how they contributed to performance throughout the round.
Kinetek Sports’ expertise in golf sensor technology has also extended beyond ClubHub. The company was involved in developing sensor technology used in Callaway Golf’s FITS club-fitting system, applying its experience in motion sensing and golf data to the equipment-fitting environment. That work, together with ClubHub, reflects Kinetek’s broader focus on using connected sensors and software to transform physical golf activity into information that can help golfers and golf professionals make better decisions.
The partnership represents an early example of the connected golf ecosystem that has become increasingly important across the industry. By bringing together physical equipment, embedded sensors, mobile software, GPS course mapping, and performance analytics, ClubHub demonstrated how technology could capture what happens during a golfer’s actual round and transform those events into useful performance information.
“Kinetek Sports was an early innovator in connecting the golf club, the golfer, and the course through technology. ClubHub’s ability to automatically capture shots and combine that information with iGolf’s course intelligence created a much richer picture of how a golfer actually performs during a round. As a San Diego-based company ourselves, we were especially pleased to work with another local technology team developing innovative ways to help golfers better understand their games,” said Ryan Kimberling, Vice President of Sales & Strategy at iGolf.

Founded in 2009 and based in San Diego, California, Kinetek Sports, Inc. developed ClubHub Golf, a connected golf technology platform combining club-mounted sensors with mobile software to provide automatic shot tracking, swing analysis, shot distances and locations, GPS course maps, scoring, and performance statistics. The company was founded by Patrick M. Steusloff, with Tom Lupfer also identified as a co-founder, and its sensor technology was also applied to Callaway Golf’s FITS club-fitting system. ClubHub is a legacy product and is no longer actively distributed through major mobile application stores.
