SAN DIEGO, CA – October 15, 2025 – iGolf is excited to partner with Par Points Golf, LLC, the company behind ParPoints, an innovative golf scoring and competition platform designed to make the game more accessible, competitive, and enjoyable for golfers of every ability. Through the partnership, ParPoints integrates iGolf’s industry-leading golf course mapping and GPS data into its mobile experience, providing the accurate course and distance information needed to power a unique scoring format that allows golfers of different skill levels — and even golfers playing different courses — to compete together.
ParPoints reimagines traditional golf scoring by allowing golfers to choose where they begin each hole. Rather than always starting from a designated tee box, a player selects a starting position based on the distance from which they believe they can make par. The farther from the green the player begins, the more points are available for making par or better, creating a straightforward risk-and-reward decision on every hole. Bogeys or worse do not carry a points penalty, allowing players to focus on successfully completing increasingly difficult challenges as their abilities improve.
The format creates an alternative way for golfers with significantly different abilities to enjoy meaningful competition together. Beginners and youth golfers can start closer to the green while more accomplished players take on longer distances, with each competing for points within the same scoring system. ParPoints also positions the concept as a developmental tool: golfers can work toward consistently making par from a particular distance before progressively moving farther away as their skills improve.
Through its partnership with iGolf, ParPoints gains the global course intelligence needed to make that format work across thousands of golf facilities. The ParPoints experience uses GPS to determine a golfer’s distance to the center of the green, which directly influences the points available on a hole. iGolf’s mapping infrastructure provides the geographic foundation for that experience, allowing golfers to establish starting locations and compete using consistent course information wherever they play. ParPoints currently advertises access to more than 38,000 courses worldwide.
Competition extends well beyond golfers sharing the same tee time. ParPoints supports live group scoring and shared leaderboards, allowing golfers to play together even when they are physically playing different golf courses. Team games can similarly include players competing from separate locations. The platform also includes handicapped games, global leaderboards, achievements, personal records, traditional stroke tracking, and tools that allow one player to keep score for others, including children or golfers who do not maintain their own accounts.
ParPoints has also expanded into organized golf through functionality designed for tournaments, junior programs, lessons, leagues, and other golf organizations. Organizations can assign golfers to groups, create games for participants, maintain organizational leaderboards, and track individual golfers’ statistics, achievements, and game histories. Tournament organizers can use ParPoints scoring together with live leaderboards to create an alternative competitive format for events.
“ParPoints has taken one of the most fundamental parts of golf — making par — and created an entirely different way for people to compete around it. What we especially like about the concept is that it can make the game more approachable for beginners and junior golfers while still creating a meaningful challenge for experienced players. Because distance is fundamental to how ParPoints works, accurate course intelligence is an important part of the experience. We’re excited to partner with the ParPoints team and help golfers compete together regardless of their ability, starting position, or even the course they’re playing,” said Ryan Kimberling, Vice President of Sales & Strategy at iGolf.
