SAN DIEGO, CA – iGolf is excited to partner with Shot Pattern, a golf GPS, strategy, and performance analytics platform designed to help golfers make smarter decisions on the course and turn their shot data into lower scores. Through the partnership, Shot Pattern integrates iGolf’s industry-leading golf course mapping and GPS data into its platform, providing the accurate course intelligence that supports its personalized strategy tools, shot tracking, course preparation, and advanced performance analysis.

Shot Pattern takes a strategy-first approach to golf GPS by showing golfers how their personal shot dispersion fits the hole in front of them. Rather than simply providing distances to greens and hazards, the platform allows players to overlay customized tee-shot arcs and approach-shot patterns directly onto the course, helping them visualize how different clubs and targets interact with fairways, rough, bunkers, water, and out-of-bounds areas. Its Strokes Gained Predictor goes a step further, using a golfer’s actual dispersion history to compare clubs and targets and calculate the expected outcome of different strategic decisions before the shot is played.

The platform connects that strategy with extensive performance tracking and analysis. Golfers can track shots directly from an iPhone, use automatic swing detection with Apple Watch, enter rounds after play, or upload launch monitor data to establish measured club distances and dispersion patterns. After a round, Shot Pattern provides shot-by-shot Strokes Gained analysis across driving, approach, short game, and putting, alongside dispersion trends, proximity statistics, scoring breakdowns, heat maps, and its “Score Killers” analysis designed to identify the individual shots and patterns costing a golfer the most strokes. Players can also benchmark their performance against Tour professionals or golfers at different handicap levels and share their complete performance data with a coach.

By pairing these capabilities with iGolf’s database of more than 40,000 mapped golf courses across 177 countries, Shot Pattern has the geographic foundation needed to place a golfer’s individual performance information into meaningful course context. Accurate hole layouts and geospatial information allow the platform to position shot dispersion against the actual playing environment, support GPS measurements and course preparation, and provide the spatial context required for its strategy and expected-outcome calculations. Shot Pattern also offers a 3D Course Preview experience that allows golfers to study holes, measure landing areas, evaluate elevation changes, and establish targets before arriving at the course.

Shot Pattern has also built its platform with competitive golf in mind. A dedicated Tournament Mode automatically removes features such as live Strokes Gained and the Strokes Gained Predictor during play while retaining permitted GPS distances, preset dispersion visuals, shot tracking, green maps, static elevation information, and weather and wind forecast information. This gives competitive golfers the ability to prepare before the round, use appropriate course and strategy information during competition, and then return to the platform’s complete analytical capabilities after play. Shot Pattern reports that more than 100,000 golfers use the platform, with adoption extending across professional and collegiate golf.

“Shot Pattern is a great example of how accurate course intelligence can become much more than a GPS distance. Their platform takes the geometry of the golf course and combines it with the golfer’s actual shot pattern to help answer one of the most important questions in the game: ‘Where should I aim?’ We’re excited to partner with Shot Pattern and provide the mapping foundation that helps their team turn individual performance data into smarter strategy, better preparation, and ultimately better golf,” said Ryan Kimberling, Vice President of Sales & Strategy at iGolf.
